Couple Place Ad In Local Paper For Witnesses.
A couple who put an advert in a local paper for two withesses to attend their low key wedding were pleased when 15 complete strangers turned up to their ceremony.
Catherine Webb and Mark Campbell had decided that, because they had both been married before, they wanted a quiet wedding on holiday in Barnstaple, Devon.
They told their families that it was just going to be “Just the two of us” and not to worry about coming.
Instead they solved the problem of finding two people to witness their wedding by placing an advert in the local press.
The couple from Derbyshire were amazed when 15 people turned up to attend their wedding including a bridesmaid and a pageboy.
A local florist even donated a bouquet for the bride and one of the guests even organised a reception afterwards.
