Wedding Season Places Financial Strain On Guests
The summer wedding season is placing financial strain on cash strapped guests, new research suggests.
A survey by independent financial website Fool.co.uk, found the average cost of attending a wedding is now £256.
But 1 in 12 wedding guests will spend at least £1,000 to watch their loved ones get hitched, and 18% of guests will spend £400 on the event.
One third of those surveyed covered the cost of attending a wedding, which include presents and new outfits, on their credit cards.
