Anger At Wedding Ring Ban
A hospital trust has defended its ban on staff wearing some wedding rings despite anger from nurses.
Staff at Bradford Royal Infirmary have been told some rings pose an infection risk as bacteria could become embedded in the engravings.
Many nurses were found to be wearing wedding bands with engravings on the outside the during a recent infectioncontrol audit.
But some of those affected say they will resist attempts by the trust to make them take off these rings, saying the measure is unnecessary.
A spokesman for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said: “Whilst we appreciate a minority of staff may be disappointed at not being allowed to wear other styles of wedding ring, the foundation trust has this policy in place for the protection and safety of our patients.
We are working extremely hard to combat healthcare-associated infections and this work is already showing results, with MRSA rates falling sharply.
Not to sure about this one myself but it does seem a little bit petty.

Grooms Mother Has Heart Attack Due To Limo Crash
The driver of the white limousine, carrying a bridegroom , his mother and the best man, lost control of the car just yards from the church after the brakes failed and ploughed into a brick wall.
The crash caused the groom’s mother to have a heart attack and left the groom with back and leg injuries.
Moments later bride arrived on the scene and was shocked by the sight that greeted her.
The limo was crushed against a wall and despite the groom mother being stretchered to hospital by paramedics, the bride and groom decided to carry on with the ceremony so as not to disappoint guests.
Now the unlucky couple are unsure if they’ll go ahead with their honeymoon in Spain.
I hope the groom’s mother makes a full recovery and the couple get their honeymoon.

Greece also benefits from simpler legal wedding paperwork than other European countries, and English is widely spoken.
