Wedding Ring Found After 90 Years Under Water
A First World War sailor’s wedding ring has been discovered in the sea almost 90 years after he died
Stanley Cubiss was one of 188 crewmen who died on January 12 1918 after two warships ran aground on the Orkney island of South Ronaldsay.
Mr Cubiss’s wedding ring was found on the seabed by divers last summer.
They were able to track down Stanleys nephew, Malcolm Cubiss, 79, and presented him with the ring,
He has since donated the wedding ring to Scapa Flow Visitor Centre on the island of Hoy.
Nice to see this has ben found after so many years at the bottom of the sea .
