Advertisement for Thirty ‘Guests’ to Sit On Bride’s Side of Church

A bride-to-be is advertising for guests’ to attend her wedding to take the place of family members and friends who are unable to travel from Ukraine.

The advert for approximately thirty ‘decent’ guests’ plus a bridesmaid, groomsmen and ushers was posted online with a request for photographs to be sent along with some details about themselves.

Only the bride’s parents will be on her side of the church which has led to her looking for people to fill up the pews to represent her side.

“I’m having a large mixed wedding of about 150 people. My partner has loads of family around to invite to the wedding,” said the ad on gumtree.com.

In exchange for attending the wedding ceremony the ‘stand-in’ guests will be given a free invite to the reception which includes a meal and dancing.

The wedding guest list of 150 all range from the groom’s side is to take place in London and Gumtree trends analyst Trisha Routledge commended the bride-to-be’s resourcefulness by saying “It’s great to see that they’re finding other ways of filling the seats, whilst offering some lucky people the chance to go to a wedding for free – and you never know who you might meet”.

Maybe something for agencies to think about in hiring out people to go where needed?
