Bride and Groom Leave Treasured Box in New York Taxi Cab

A box containing cards, cheques and mementos from a perfect wedding day was left in the boot of a taxi cab by a newlywed pair who almost cancelled their honeymoon because of the lost treasures.

Thankfully it was found by an honest cab driver who after looking through the cards and finding an envelope with their address on it he returned it to the doorman of the building where the couple lived.

Haron ur Rashid, 50 has been driving taxis in New York City for over five years and lives in the Bronx.  He told the Daily News, “I tell the doorman ‘This is important,’”

The identity of the honest driver went undiscovered by the family until one of the groom’s relatives happened to recognise Rashid’s cab on the Tuesday as he was unaware the box had been found and returned.

The relative was told by Rashid “I said to him, ‘Brother, I found it.”

Newlyweds David and Christine Fitzhenry were given the joyous news of the return of their priceless box while on honeymoon in Mexico.

Nice to know there are still honest people out there!
