Circus Wedding for Clown

If the wedding march song ‘Send in the Clowns’ is chosen when Claire Eddowes walks down the aisle to marry her fiancée Chris Williams, it would probably come as no surprise to their family and friends because Chris, who works in the Netherlands National Circus as a performing clown, stunned fiancé Claire with a marriage proposal while she was sitting in the audience with their parents and friends.

Chris had taken Claire’s dad to one side and traditionally asked for his daughter’s hand in marriage only moments before his unsuspecting girlfriend was asked to become his wife.

“It was the most nervous I have ever been, I was worried she’d say no. I invited my mother, her friend and Claire’s parents said Chris. “I told them it would be a nice family day out.

After his clown performance and his one-man magic show, Chris stepped into the centre stage in the circus ring and popped the question in front of the whole audience who seemed to hold their breaths while waiting to hear what Claire’s answer would be.

To everybody’s delights, and even more so to a very nervous clown, Claire said yes in front of 500 people.

They are now busy planning their wedding for next year which of course will be a circus one.

Claire, who has been going out with Chris for two years said “I have always wanted to get married in a circus, so we will see.”

Two Hundred Pound Wedding

470_176628.jpgOn July the seventh a couple from Hainton in Lincolnshire who have been together for fifteen years finally tied the knot in a penny-pinching wedding ceremony costing less than two hundred pounds.  With the current credit crunch, fifty two year old Jane Barton and forty eight year old Ian Rushby did not want an elaborate wedding costing the earth, particularly as they had both been married previously, so they opted for the cheap and cheerful approach.

Jane, a Social care worker found a ring in her drawer which she used while Ian, a bus driver had a ring made from the wire top of the champagne bottle they had during their lunch which was wound round his finger.  All other accessories that usually go along with a wedding such as flowers and a cake were all omitted to cut down on costs.

The newlyweds, while enjoying a pub lunch of fish and chips before the ceremony with Jane’s daughter Alice and her good friend Alan Tuplin, told them that they were to be married that afternoon and asked them to be witnesses.  They then cycled the fourteen miles to the registry office where they got married without even changing out of their sporting gear.  After they were hitched they paid a visit to the local play park with Jane’s grand-daughter.

The pair were concerned about costs escalating and decided not to tell family and friends they were getting married until after the fact.  The total cost including the registrar and the lunch came to £168.50.

Its not money that makes a great wedding, its love and this couple certainly seem to have plenty for each other!

Sentelle Soy Candles (Review)

sentelleSome of you will be thinking of using candles at your wedding, maybe during your ceremony, as table decorations at your reception or giving to your guests as favours.

With this in mind I was asked to try one of the candles from Sentelle Soy Candles the candle I enjoyed was from the Tureen Jar range with the heavenly scent of Southern Charm.

This range of candles come in a lovely ornate jars and have a double wick so you can enjoy the wonderful scent twice as much.

The other fragrances in this range are :

  • Angel Type
  • Amber Musk
  • Butt Naked

Scent descriptions can be found on the website.

It also seems soy candles have a lot of benefits over paraffin candles these are (as listed on the website)

  • They are clean-burning and do not produce soot that stains walls and harms lungs
  • They are toxin-free and non-carcinogenic
  • Our soy candles have very good fragrance absorption, and both the candles and room smells great
  • The zero fragrance loss throughout the life of the candle means the candle smells as great at the bottom as it did at the top of the candle
  • They are eco-friendly: Made from a sustainable resource & biodegradable
  • They last 50% longer than conventional candles
  • They are sourced from high quality soya beans

After testing these candles I must say I would highly recommend them not only are they lovely looking, have a wonderful scent but are very eco-friendly.

A complete must for any “Green” Bride to be.

Couple with Same Name To Get Married

Garter and ShoesAs most of us do when we join networking sites such as MySpace or Facebook, we insert our own names to see if there is anyone with the same name as us.  One night when twenty year old student Kelly Katrina Hildebrandt from Florida was a bit bored, she put her name into Facebook.  At the time, there was only one other match and this Kelly Carl Hildebrandt was a twenty four year old man based in Lubbock in Texas so she decided to send him a quick message.

They did look into the possibility that they might be distant relatives but once it was confirmed there was no connection a romance formed and over a period of three months the couple got closer through emails and phone calls and eventually began visiting each other which resulted in them falling in love.  A short time later, Kelly was surprised with an engagement ring which her new love had hidden in a box.

The similarity in names has caused them one or two problems, one of them being a holiday they had organised on a cruise ship where their travel agent almost cancelled one of their tickets thinking that an error had been made.  They will no doubt face similar problems in the future but for now, in an effort to combat these problems, the couple have begun using their middle names, starting with their wedding invitations.

The couple plan to get married in Florida in October in front of over one hundred friends and family at the Lighthouse Point Yacht & Racquet Club.

One thing Kelly Katrina will not have to worry about is having to practice the signature of her new married name!

Wedding Entrance a Worldwide Sensation on YouTube

buttonholeThe wedding guests of groom Kevin Heinz and his bride Jill Peterson were surprised and delighted when the whole wedding party danced down the aisle to the sound of Chris Brown singing ‘Forever’.

The couple who are both from Minnesota wanted to turn the normal wedding march down the aisle into an enjoyable and hip-swaying dance routine to show their love of music and dance, while at the same time spreading that little bit of extra happiness in the church.

New bride Jill said she has always “loved to dance as a way to express yourself and share joy.” “It was something I had always thought about doing,” she said of the bridal boogie.

All of their bridesmaids, groomsmen and ushers were more than happy to shimmy down the aisle with the bride and groom and had practised the dance routine just an hour and a half before the ceremony. Apart from the wedding party, the only other people that were aware of the dance were the newlywed’s parents.

Since the five minute video was placed on YouTube just one week ago, it has been viewed almost 5 million times and become a web sensation.

Groom Kevin was first seen by his guests when he performed a somersault whilst hidden among his groomsmen. “I’m just glad I didn’t hurt myself,” Heinz said of his somersault.

What a truly great and memorable way to start your wedding day and getting all your guests toe tapping!  The  video is well worth looking at here

Wedding Ring Found after Thirty Three Years

Wedding Ring and HandsA sixty year old woman who had lost her wedding ring at her previous home in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire unbelievably received a call from one of her old neighbours to say that they had found it, thirty three years later!

In 1976 Anthea Capewell was closing her gate when her engagement and wedding rings slipped from her finger and rolled away underneath the nearby hedges.  Distraught at her loss she and her husband David searched frantically for weeks for the rings even using a metal detector.  A year later, David did manage to find the engagement ring while laying a driveway and Anthea resounded herself to the fact that her wedding ring was gone forever.  Seven years later Anthea and David moved out of the house.

The couple only moved to Bilborough, just four miles away so kept in touch with their old friends and neighbours, Carol and Don Rigby.    While out gardening and weeding, Carol found the ring buried in the ground and couldn’t wait to get onto the phone to Anthea.

Anthea, a retired shop assistant couldn’t believe it had been found and was very excited at the news.  The couple have been married for over forty years and have eleven grandchildren, three children and now, after their amazing recovery, they plan to renew their vows next year.

What a lovely story and what a lucky grandma she is!

Email for Two Million Dollar Wedding Cancellation

red-rose.jpgA couple’s two million dollar wedding was cancelled by the groom just days before it was due to take place on the 11th of July at the Mandarin Oriental in Manhattan.  The method of cancellation was an email.

Kesha Ni’Cole Nichols and Richard Jefferson, a former New Jersey Net had been together for five years.  After celebrating the 4th of July holidays in Los Angeles Richard decided to end their rocky relationship and on her return home to New York, Kesha received an email bearing the bad news.

She immediately called Richard and they talked for over two hours but Richard was adamant about his decision to split and the couple has not talked since.  Richard stated that they are both hurting but there were a number of factors which resulted in his decision, none of which included the rumors about him being gay.

With only a few days to go before the wedding, some of the guests were not informed in time to change their travel plans and some of them even turned up in Manhatten to attend the wedding unaware that it had been cancelled.  This cost Richard quite a chunk of money on his credit card that he left behind the bar for those that turned up at the reception venue the day of the wedding.

Richard refused to make any negative comments about his ex Kesha but did say that she will remain one of his best friends and that she will also be receiving a large sum of money to help her get on with her life.

What a cold and callous way to end a five year relationship, even the most emotionally stunted man could have dealt with this in a more respectful way!

Plane Crashes When Bride Threw her Bouquet

jac10You see it in movies or on TV programs showing home clips where the bride throws the bouquet and unwillingly it hits a ceiling fan and scatters into thousands of pieces or it accidently knocks over the wedding cake etc, but for one bride in Italy this throwing tradition caused a plane to crash.

The newlyweds and their guests were enjoying the reception at Montioni Park in Suvereto which is in western Tuscany when a plane the bride and groom had hired flew above their heads.

The plan was that the single women would stand in a line while forty four year old Isidoro Pensiere threw out her bouquet to them from the plane.

Unfortunately, as the flowers were thrown out of the plane, they were sucked into the engine and the plane caught fire.  The plane plummeted into a nearby field located near to a hostel which was occupied by over fifty guests at the time but luckily, none of those on the ground were hurt.  Even Luciano Nannelli, the pilot of the plane survived uninjured.

Isidoro however fractured both of her legs and suffered with head injuries and was treated at a Pisa hospital.

Vicar Helps Out Couple after Theft

A couple from Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire lost their Celtic wedding rings along with the cash which was for the wedding ceremony at a local store but their vicar agreed to marry them as planned without payment.

Jane Walker and Adrian Wadey were married at All Saints Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. Andrew Milton on Saturday 11th July 2009.

Just a few days before the wedding, while browsing Marks & Spencer in Peterborough the couple were carrying a blue and silver bag which contained an envelope with over two hundred pounds inside and a box carrying their gold wedding rings worth four hundred and fifty pounds.  The staff within the store searched for the bag but it was not found.

Adrian and Jane were extremely concerned that they may have to postpone or cancel their wedding until they could get the money together again but the vicar agreed to sort payment out after the ceremony had taken place.

Family and friends pulled money together for replacement rings and after contacting BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and making an appeal on the air, the rings were surprisingly received through the post at the couple’s home the morning of the wedding.  The money was not returned.

Even though the money was not returned, it must have been a nice surprise to at least have their wedding rings back!

Groom and Parents Jailed after Fake Injury Claim

A groom and his parents from Old Trafford in Manchester, after giving false information about an accident they had been involved in on the day of his wedding in order to claim compensation, were charged recently and are to serve a year each in jail.

Twenty six year old Andrew Singh along with his fifty three year old dad Graham and forty nine year old mum Niramella were travelling in one of two Hollins Travel coaches going to Andrew’s wedding in Preston in July 2004 when the buses crashed.

A Detective Constable from the Greater Manchester Police, Chris Harrison confirmed that one of the coaches hit a wall at the reception venue while the other was in a collision with a car.  Apart from one of the drivers, no one suffered any serious injuries.

The Singh’s tried to sue the travel company at the civil courts for over four thousand pounds claiming whiplash injuries and even submitted a tape to prove that they were on the bus during the crash.  A video taken at the wedding showed them after the accident dancing around energetically.

Their case was dismissed and they were fined court costs of over seventy thousand pounds each.  The Crown Prosecution Service became involved when the case was given to the Director of Public Prosecutions where it was decided that the Singh’s should be charged.

The trio admitted conspiracy to defraud and perjury at Manchester Crown Court.

Their claims could have destroyed a small travel company, all because they wanted to earn a few pennies by lying and making false accusations.
