Jilted Groom Finally Weds
One of the worst things you could imagine is being jilted before your wedding but for one man from America, Grant Schildhouse, he was actually dropped by his bride-to-be twice and yet he still married his fiancée!
The couple met while Judy was on holiday with her family in America and they spent their time between the States and Southampton. After a whirlwind romance, Judy was swept away by the marriage proposal she received and their first wedding was organised at a cost of ten thousand pounds. With only a month to go before the wedding Judy decided that she was unable to go through with it and called it off. Feeling guilty about her decision they arranged their wedding for the second time, this time at a cost of fifteen thousand pounds but less than two months to go and Judy again called the wedding off.
After Judy’s decision the couple went their separate ways and Grant returned to America but after a few months apart, Judy finally realised that she did in fact want to be married and flew to America to ask Grant to be her husband and after much convincing Grant agreed.
Many of Grant’s family from the States did not come to the wedding after understandably being displeased at having to purchase long haul flights for weddings that did not take place. It was definitely third time lucky for twenty six year old Grant when he married twenty five year old Judy in front of their two hundred guests.
Posh to pay for Sister’s Wedding
Most sisters of the bride-to-be play a part in the wedding day, usually as part of the bridal party as a bridesmaid or even the Maid of Honour. For the sister of Victoria Beckham however, her sister’s contribution to the wedding is to pay thousands of pounds towards the big day!
The thirty five year spice girl has offered to give her sister, thirty one year old Louise Adams fifty thousand pounds as a wedding gift and has even offered her home to her baby sister as a venue for the celebrations. Not only that but Posh Spice has asked Vera Wang, a top fashion designer to make her sister’s wedding dress. The designer also produced Victoria’s wedding dress when she married famous footballer David Beckham in July 1999.
Louise is due to marry her fiancé Darren Flood in December. Thirty year old Darren, a stockbroker is slightly opposed to the extravagant gifts offered by his sister-in-law-to-be and wants to pay for the wedding himself.
It is understood that Victoria considers her offer a Christmas present to her sister and is not worried about the cost!
Groom-to-be has Excess Skin Removed
After appearing on the popular weight loss show, The Biggest Loser, and losing a staggering amount of weight, one of the contestants decided to have all his excess skin removed in time for his wedding day!
Twenty six year old Neil Tejwani weighed in at over thirty two stone when he joined the programme back in 2007 and at the finale of the show was a much trimmer sixteen stone, almost half the man he was to begin with. The excess skin that he was left with was removed by plastic surgeon Dr Stoker and was the equivalent to over a stone in weight.
Neil is now a fitness consultant and during the preparations for his wedding, he and his bride-to-be planned a healthy menu for their guests.
After a year’s engagement, Neil married his fiancée Stefanie Nigro in front of almost two hundred guests, some of whom included contestants from the show and even his old trainer Bob Harper. Neil was thrilled to be able to wear a fitted tuxedo with a thirty six inch waist instead of a fifty four inch waist.
Life Size Motorbike Wedding Cake
Wedding ceremonies and receptions are becoming more and more original and wacky every year and a wedding that took place in Virginia earlier this month has its own twist of wackiness when the wedding cake was shaped like a Ducati motorbike, but more unbelievable that that, it was actually a life sized cake!
The cake was made for the wedding of the CEO of the company Go Daddy, Mr Bob Parsons and his bride, Renee LaBelle and was more of a ‘show’ cake. The couple who met over two years ago on a blind date, had a cake for their guests to eat which had ten tiers and was covered with photos of their family members.
The wedding took place in Charlottesville at Keswick Hall in front of almost one hundred and fifty guests.
The cake, featured on the show ‘Ace of Cakes’ was made not only with parks that worked such brake lights but also produced sounds just like a real motorbike and even had a cake helmet to match.
Bride Shot the Day before her Wedding
On the eve of her wedding, a bride-to-be, instead of enjoying her evening and thinking about the wonderful day to follow, was treated by paramedics but subsequently died after being accidently shot in the chest by her groom-to-be!
After hearing noises, sixty two year old John Tabutt thought that he had an intruder in his house and on grabbing his gun shot at someone standing in his hallway. He was under the impression that his fiancé Nancy Dinsmore, also sixty two, was still in their bed and did not realise that the dark figure was his partner. The couple from Florida were due to be married in Winter Springs not far from Orlando at St Stephen Catholic Church.
Though Mr Tabutt has no criminal record, Police are investigating the shooting. Chief Kevin Brunelle, a representative of the Winter Springs Police, stated that they are unsure what exactly happened and are still trying to piece the series of events together but consider it to be a tragic mistake.
Wedding Guest Sues Hyatt Hotel
In New York, a guest attending a wedding at The Grand Hyatt hotel has decided to sue the hotel after being injured during the wedding reception and is hoping to receive one million dollars in compensation!
Twenty seven year old Christine Mancision has made a claim that James Graeber, the brother of the bride, grabbed hold of her while she was dancing and tossed her around resulting in Christine breaking her wrist. After landing on the floor, Christine was taken to hospital and endured an operation where screws and a metal plate were put in her wrist and after months of rehabilitation she has been left with a scar measuring approximately three inches.
Christine attended the wedding with her partner Brett Henige who was a work colleague of the groom, Chris Beley. As Brett had also attended the Stag party he was aware of who James was and was able to identify him to Christine.
The five star hotel will not comment on the charge but Christine feels that they are liable as they continued to serve alcohol to the gentleman after it was abundantly clear that he had clearly had a lot to drink. Christine is also taking Mr Graeber to the federal court in Manhattan.
Get Me to the Church
After winning a radio competition, a bride from Barnsley had to make her own way to the church on the morning of her wedding with no money and no transport!
The “Get Me to the Church on Time” competition was run by Hallam FM and the winners were bride-to-be Clare Reynolds and her fiancé Sean Goddard.
Clare was faced with the task of making the journey, which was two hundred and forty miles from start to finish, in order to get to her own wedding ceremony on time for the service which was due to start at 3pm. She was given a time allocation of just eight hours and somehow made her way to the Hotel by borrowing money and accepting lifts from passers by.
The ceremony and reception were paid for as part of the prize and the couple only had two weeks from winning the competition to the actual day to make their preparations.
The wedding reception took place near Doncaster at The Crown Hotel in Bawtry and as every bride is entitled to be late for her own wedding, Clare was less than an hour late. Unfortunately her lateness resulted in a couple of luxury items being lost including their wedding cake which was substituted for a Swiss roll and instead of champagne for the toast they were given the cider option. The couple’s honeymoon to Paris was however saved!
Wedding Halted by Immigration
A Register Office in Manchester was the location of a phony wedding which did not take place when neither the bride nor the groom was able to speak to each other in their own native language.
The bride from Portugal arrived at the register office wearing a lilac dress and a tiara made of plastic. The groom was originally from Pakistan and was able to speak English as well as Urdu but the bride only spoke in Portuguese. The couple were due to have an interpreter so that their vows would be translated to one another but just before the ceremony was due to take place in front of their five guests the service was stopped.
Officials from the UK Border Agency believed that the marriage was purely one of convenience after they had received a tip off. They stated that the twenty nine year old groom faces deportation after it was found his temporary visa had expired. The twenty four year old bride was seemingly un-phased by the interruption on her wedding day.
A representative from the UK Border Agency stated that abuse of the immigration laws will not be tolerated and those that break the rules will face punishment.
Wedding Chaos Get Together
Recently, as the girls on the Chaos wedding forum were planning a “get together”, Karen Clark was busy planning a party for her daughter’s tenth birthday. Not wanting to miss out on all the fun and wanting to be there “in spirit”, Karen set about making some earrings and packing them in tiny organza bags.
These were then carefully packaged along with some chocolates for the boys and sent off, hoping that the Royal Mail would safely deliver them.
Only organizer Amy was aware that Karen had been planning, but even she was kept in the dark about what the secret was, until the parcel arrived with her.
On the day of the Chaos get together, Karen was up to her eyes in painty, chalky fun, but happy to know that her little gifts were helping the chaos party go with a swing!
Karen designs and creates bespoke jewellery, tiaras and wedding accessories. She is able to create all items to coordinate with your colour scheme and style.
Her online store Crystal Velvet has details of all her products and services.
