Lost Ring Found on Valentine’s Day
Finding something you’ve lost is always a good feeling and when it is a wedding ring, something precious that signifies your relationship, that feeling is coupled with relief at finding such a sentimental item and happiness. For one couple whose wedding ring disappeared while out walking in the snow they experienced just these feeling quite recently when thankfully their ring was found!
Liz and Richard Allen who live in Sheffield had decided to celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary and the New Year in the Lake District in Cumbria and during their visit to Coniston they enjoyed a walk through the Coppermines Valley when it was completely covered in snow. As they enjoyed their walk, Richard’s wedding ring fell from his hand and the couple were unable to find it in the thirty inches of snow lying on the ground. The couple searched as best they could but to no avail and the Coppermines and Lakes Cottages agreed to put up posters on the off chance that the ring was found when the snow melted.
The Managing Director of Coppermines, Philip Johnston, commented that looking for the ring would have been extremely difficult but luckily, almost amazingly, once the snow had gone the ring was found and handed in and the couple collected it from the Coppermines on Valentine’s Day.
