Burnham Couple Elope

A couple from Burnham decided not to arrange a traditional wedding and instead opted to elope and instead of family and friends being there to witness the occasion, their witness was in fact a traffic warden they had met just moments before the service!

Forty four year old Gary Jones and his partner twenty four year old Rebecca had decided to get married but did not have the money and did not want to deal with all the preparations and stress that a wedding brings so they decided to run away and elope. After telling all their friends and family members that they were going to Cornwall for a little holiday, the pair instead made their way to famous town of Gretna Green.

Rebecca and Gary, a truck driver decided on their big plan just three weeks before the big day. Rebecca even received a call from her mother during their stay in Gretna but was able to lie to her mother easily and without guilt.

On the day of the wedding the couple were parking outside the Registry Office when they stopped a passing traffic warden to ask permission to park and subsequently asked the traffic warden to be their witness. The pair thoroughly enjoyed their wedding day and even though it was not to everyone’s liking they would not change a single thing.

Russian Roulette Wedding

A guest who was attending a wedding in December last year in Moscow, Russia was badly injured after stupidly playing a game of Russian roulette!

The game of chance was even recorded on video which after the incident happened was broadcast on television. The video aired shows a man going up to the recently married Groom and pointing a gun to the Groom’s head and actually pulling the trigger, the click of which can be quite clearly heard on screen. The gunman then proceeds to pass the gun along to a different man who subsequently puts the gun to his own head and pulls the trigger. As a result, the man, after being shot by the rubber bullet, drops to the floor and has to be taken to hospital with a rather severe head wound.

It was reported in the Komsomolskaya Pravda daily newspaper that the man who passed the gun over to the injured wedding guest was arrested and charged with hooliganism following the shooting.

Bingo Wedding Sponsor

Who wouldn’t want someone to pay for, or at least pay a large chunk of their wedding? How easy would it be to agree to let someone ‘sponsor’ your big day but what would it involve? There is a bride out there who, if she agrees, could have a large section of her wedding all paid for in exchange for some minor advertising!

There are a lot of Bingo lovers out there and if you love Bingo and you’re a Bride-to-be then being sponsored by a Bingo website could be beneficial for everyone.

OnlineBingoClub wants a couple to agree to some advertising of their website on their menus, placemats, invitations and even the Bride’s dress and in exchange they will award the couple five thousand pounds towards their wedding costs. The advert that will be placed on the Bride’s dress will most certainly be colourful but it will also be removable so that the Bride can have her photographs taken without the advertisement in full view.

Rob Hutchison, a spokesman for the company has said that having the adverts strategically placed somewhere within the wedding day is just a small price for any lucky couple who will certainly benefit from the large sum of cash they will receive in exchange.

Anniversary Couple Escape Bandits

A British couple from Exmouth in Devon who were happily celebrating their silver wedding anniversary found themselves in a terrifying situation at the hands of four armed robbers while staying at their Kenyan resort!

Forty six year old Christine Smith and her husband, forty five year old David were staying at Cove Retreat beach resort near to Mombasa in Kenya. They were only a few days into their three week holiday when their tree house accommodation was broken into while they slept and the couple were literally dragged out of their beds without their clothes while the robbers waved machetes at them and demanded that they hand over their money and jewellery.

The couple thought that they were going to be killed by the men. Christine and David, who was suffering from a head injury, were able to escape from the men’s clutches and found a cave to hide in until the following morning.

The pair paid four thousand pounds for their holiday and they have been offered just over two thousand pounds in compensation by their travel operator. They do not feel this is sufficient payment for what they have suffered and are considering taking further action!

Wedding Car Business in Flames

When a fire happens it can be extremely destructive but when the fires are set on purpose to destroy things it can be doubly upsetting!

A company of wedding cars in Acrefair in Wrexham has suffered at the hands of arsonists when seven cars from their fleet were destroyed in a fire at their garage. The arsonists caused over a hundred thousand pounds worth of damage to the cars which were being stored in the garage overnight, the foundations of which were also destroyed.

Philip and Sharon Hughes, owners of the Oaklands Chauffeured Vehicles business have been together for over twenty years and lived near to the garage when they spotted the fire. Philip tried his best to contain the flames but unfortunately was unable to stop the fire from spreading. The cars destroyed in the fire included a Roadster, a Jaguar and limousines.

They have helped many couples find alternative transport for their weddings and the pair are determined to have their business back on track in a matter of days.

Police are investigating the attack.

Bridesmaid Dress Stolen

The odd hiccup the morning of your wedding or even a few days before is usually something that any Bride and Groom can understand or expect as hardly anything runs smoothly nowadays and in the majority of cases, these ‘hiccups’ can be rectified quite quickly. A Bride from Pike Creek in Delaware, America was out shopping with her Bridesmaid to be when the Bridesmaid’s dress was stolen from their car!

With just hours to go before the wedding was due to take place, the women were spending some time in a beauty salon at a local shopping centre in order to prepare themselves for the wedding ceremony. During their preparations at the Shoppes of Limestone Hills, and unbeknown to them, someone broke into their car and stole a bag full of accessories along with the pink Bridesmaid’s dress.

There was no physical damage done to the car so the Police have suggested that the dress thief over-rode the mechanism for the car’s self locking system somehow. The Police appealed for the thief to return the address and for any witnesses to come forward.

A surprise on your wedding day usually consists of a lovely gift from your new partner or perhaps finding rose petals thrown around your honeymoon suite, it doesn’t normally begin with a proposal of marriage followed by a surprise wedding then and there!

Colin was visiting his family in Criccieth in Gwynedd for his mother’s birthday with his girlfriend, fifty three year old Vikki Galloway, when he sprang a surprise proposal on her. During the walk through the church yard, Colin asked her to be his wife and after responding ‘yes’, Vikki found herself right in the middle of a surprise wedding which Colin had been secretly arranging during his tour in Afghanistan.

Their family and friends were already waiting at St Michael’s church located in Treflys, near Porthmadog where the couple were married by Reverend Sue Williams.

Colin and Vikki live together in Cambridgeshire and after the wedding, Colin returned to his tour of duty in Kabul in Afghanistan.

So many people want to find out the comings and goings of Katie Price, aka Jordan and her chaotic and interesting lifestyle and what better way for the public to find this out than to read all about it in a magazine!

Katie, who very recently and surprisingly quickly, married fighter Alex Reid in February is planning another wedding at some point in the Summer. Doubts have been raised about their marriage and its legal status after it came to light that the Reverand Mose Henney who performed their ceremony was in fact un-licenced and therefore any wedding services performed would not be legal.

The couple feel that another wedding, something that this time can be a massive affair, will be a good thing. They are hoping that their exclusive deal with the lucky magazine will earn them a cool one million pounds to add to their pot.

Wedding Invitation is a Video Game

Couples spend many hours planning and designing their wedding invitations that coordinate with their wedding party colours, match their personalities or a theme that relates to where and how they met, but one couple have turned their invitations into a video game where their guests have to win the game to obtain the details of the wedding.

Self confessed Berlin coupe Darina Goldin and Niko Losse love nothing more than playing video games and wanted an invitation that was fun, totally different from the traditional paper sent ones and one that would be remembered for a long time.

Family members and friends that receive the game set in the style of Super Mario will be able to choose either the bride or groom to save the fiancée from an evil kidnapping monkey.

Only by winning the game will the invitee be able to get the information for the wedding and manage to RSVP.

The jeweled case that holds the wedding invitation disc was designed by the game playing due and comes complete with an information booklet.
