Any Bride and Groom would be upset at the thought of someone falling ill at their wedding reception, particularly if it was due to food poisoning but imagine if more than one person were to become poorly!
During a wedding reception being held at the JCB Lakeside Social Club located in Rocester in Uttoxeter, fifteen people became ill with symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhoea.
People began falling ill during the reception and just before midnight the paramedics were called to help. Wedding Anniversary Celebrated on the Wrong Day
Every year married couples celebrate the day that they walked down the aisle to say their vows to each other. Their celebrations take on many forms depending on the length of the anniversary, some will be quiet affairs with the couple spending some quality time alone and for others it will be a full blown knees up.
A couple from Ashton under Lyne in Greater Manchester recently discovered that after sixty years of marriage, they had in fact been celebrating their anniversary on the wrong day completely.
Ernest and Joyce Knott who are both eighty three years old have celebrated their anniversary every year on the 11th of August but it was only while celebrating their diamond anniversary that they decided to look at their wedding certificate. It showed their actual wedding date as the 12th of August and it was only then that the couple realised their mistake.
The couple were married at Christ Church in Ashton under Lyne after courting for eighteen months and neither of them are sure how this mistake occurred to begin with. The couple have three children together, Margaret, Alison and Trevor and now have six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Sixty Year Old Wedding Dress on Display
Your wedding dress is something that you want to show off to everyone, to let them see how beautiful it looks and perhaps understand how it makes you feel. One Bride from Abingdon has that chance as her dress is in a glass box in a museum for all to see!
Violet Looker was twenty nine years old when she married her husband Jack in 1946. The couple first met when Violet and her mother gave Jack a lift as he was travelling to Cambridge but they didn’t set eyes on each other for another five years when she again picked him up at the roadside. Recognising him from their previous meeting, the pair began dating and fell in love.
At the time it was not possible to buy clothes without having coupons and so a store bought dress was not affordable. Violet’s dress was made by her own hands out of some lace curtains which cost Violet’s mother forty shillings. At first, Violet was not happy about the material but felt like a princess on her wedding day.
Twelve years ago, at just eighty eight years old, Jack passed away and now, ninety three year old Violet is not even able to get out of the house to see her dress but wants to encourage others to go and see what came out of her hard work.
The hand made dress is currently being displayed in the Abingdon Museum.

Twenty nine year old footballer Ashley who plays for Chelsea and England was attending the wedding of his mate thirty five year old Sol Campbell in Corbridge in Northumberland and when Ashley came into view the onlookers jeered at him. The Bride, twenty nine year old Fiona Barratt is an interior designer and the grand-daughter of Sir Lawrie Barratt, the millionaire housing tycoon. Sol and Fiona first met in 2005 and have been engaged for a year.
