Ever After Designs

I recently asked Rebecca Jones from Ever After Designs to tell me a little about the business and of course Ever After Designs itself…

Ever After Designs was launched in 2007 by our chief designer Rebecca Jones.  We create all items of handmade wedding stationery, from invitations right through to thank you cards.

Rebecca has a real passion for design and perfection. Her collections place an emphasis on elegance and simplicity, and cover classic and contemporary themes. Whilst studying Art & Design for several years, card making was always a hobby for Rebecca. She also regularly exhibits paintings locally in Yorkshire.

We use only the highest quality materials. Our paper and card comes direct from a paper mill in the Lake District that has been around since 1753.

Good value is also very important to us. We feel that our products are competitively priced (all invitations £1.75 each). We also offer a free sample for every visitor to our website.

We pride ourselves on providing a friendly, informative and professional service, which is confirmed by the fact that around a quarter of our customers come from word of mouth.

If you are still on the search for your perfect wedding stationary why not take a visit to Ever After Designs

Children in Need 2009

You may have watched, or maybe you joined in, the Children in Need 2009 fund raising event where charitable people raised and donated over £20 million towards children in need.

On that night I was busy working when I noticed a ‘tweet‘ from Lesley from Lesley Wood Photography

Bids invited, all money 2go2 BBC CHILDRED IN NEED:A 1/2day childrens lifestyle portrait session (in NW UK) & 10×8 framed print-(worth £245!)

Well… Katherine had been asking me for a while if we could have some professional family photos taken so this seemed like an ideal opportunity to donate to Children in Need and score some brownie points with the Wife at the same time  :)

With a few minutes left the bidding had reached £135 – at this point  I decided to step in and offer £180 to Lesley – it was more than we needed to bid but, heh, it’s for Charity and Lesley was giving all her time for free – seemed only fair that we bumped it up a bit  :)

You can read more about it on Lesley’s blog

We are all looking forward to the photo shoot this summer – hoping for a nice day to go to the beach!

Rock ‘n Roll Bride

Are you planning a nice ordinary wedding?  Or do you want something a little different, something to make your guests say ‘wow’ and have a wedding to remember?  It’s not about budget, it’s about standing out from the crowd.  If that’s you then you may want to start following the blog of Kat Williams, Rock ‘n Roll Bride.  I asked Kat to tell me a little about herself and her blog…

Rock ‘n Roll Bride promotes individuality and general awesomeness in a cookie cutter, pastel pink, poufy dressed wedding world. Don’t let the wedding industry define your day – let *you* define your day.

Rock ‘n Roll Bride began as an unknown, personal wedding blog – a place for me to gather my wedding planning thoughts and ideas for myself. After our wedding in April 2008, I realised I rather liked this blogging malarkey and so decided continue gathering and posting stuff I loved and hoped others would also enjoy.

Rock n Roll Bride is all about the charm and unique nature of ordinary people’s, extraordinary weddings.

I am, as much as anyone can be, a complete and utter wedding obsessive. I did manage to plan our wedding (with help!) and do actually look at gorgeous wedding images every single day. Therefore I love to try to offer some help, advice or maybe even sanity to anyone that needs it.

Through running Rock n Roll Bride I have had the pleasure to meet (whether that be online or in actual real life) a plethora of fabulous Rock n Roll wedding-worthy photographers from all over the world. If you are still on the photographic hunt, then feel free to drop me an email for some recommendations. I adore every single photographer on my ‘List of Love’, and I would be more than thrilled to share them with you.

So whether your mother-in-law to be is driving you nuts, your best friend is refusing to come your your wedding because they can’t bring their child (oh yes, it happened to us) or if you just want someone to bounce ideas about colour schemes, hair pieces or shoes (yes please) off, don’t be shy, drop me an email and let rip…

Printfetti – Confetti with a Difference

If you are looking to use confetti at your wedding, but want something a little bit different, you should take a look at Printfetti - it’s confetti with a difference – it’s not just a single colour, it’s a multitude of shapes with varied photos printed on both sides!

I asked Emma from Printfetti to tell me a little about the business and of course Printfetti itself.

Printfetti was launched in May 2009 and is the brainchild of Matthew and Emma Augier. Matthew has been running DPS Ltd. for over 10 years as a software developer whilst Emma had been working part time, due to running 3 children around. With the youngest starting school full time in the near future, Emma wanted to contribute more to the business.

Planning a celebration of any kind sees many people seeking out that something different, that little extra that will prove to be a talking point.

Printfetti is a unique table confetti that may be just what the celebrant is looking for. Table confetti has been around for some time now. It has become increasingly popular to scatter small metallic symbols on tables and even add them into the envelope with birthday cards, Christmas cards and, indeed, any celebration card. Printfetti offers an exciting alternative to this – your photographs on confetti. Upload and use up to 10 of your favourite photos per order which appear randomly on not just one side but both! It offers a range of shapes: circles, stars, hearts and diamonds that are approximately 1” (25mm) in diameter.

Mark Niemierko – Premier Wedding Planner

mark-niemierko£50,000?     £60,000?     £70,000?     How about £500,000?

That’s a lot of money to spend on your wedding – you are probably going to want a helping hand with the planning.

And when it comes to that helping hand you will struggle to find somebody better placed than Mark Niemierko; with over 10 years experience of planning special occasions, including weddings for Premiership football players and Russian oligarchs no less, Mark is the planner of choice for the savvy and sophisticated bride and groom.

Mark has achieved what could be called a ‘celebrity status’ within the high end wedding suppliers which affords him unrivaled access for his clients; how many wedding planners could take you to an exclusive preview of Designer Max Chaoul’s Bridal Collection at the Paris Fashion Week?

So, whether you are a billionaire with only two days to plan a wedding – yes, Mark pulled this one off, with extravagance to the extreme with dress designers pitching their frocks at the clients hotel the day before the wedding – or a discerning bride whose tastes include Jimmy Choo, Harvey Nichols and the Claridge Hotel (yes, Mark is on the ‘approved’ wedding planning list here…) then you will want to engage the services of Niemierko.

Of course, deciding you want Mark to plan your wedding is only the first step, you will need to be prepared to move your wedding date to fit in with Mark’s diary – ‘double booking’ is not in the Niemierko vocabulary.

We asked Mark to share the secret of the Niemierko experience, he told us that “Myself and my team bring added value whilst ensuring that the Bride and Groom are spoilt throughout the planning process, and naturally, the wedding day itself. We strive to bring the bride and groom as much, or as little, choice as they request. Nothing makes us happier than when decisions are made 100% by the bride and groom, yet any stress or headaches that arise from those decisions are 100% handled by Niemieko. The couples we work with relax and enjoy their wedding, from the first day of planning, to the door closing on the honeymoon suite.”

Star Bakery

Lately I just can’t get enough of cupcakes – after looking at Jessica’s a few days ago I took at look at those made by Liana at Star Bakery. I was not dissapointed – they do look fab!  It’s a shame I can’t reach into my monitor and grab them for real!  Anyhow, I emailed Liana and asked her to tell me all about Star Bakery.

Star Bakery is a local company offering bespoke made to order cupcakes, cakes and other baked treats.

Our goods are home baked with quality ingredients (we only use free range eggs as we’re passionate about letting the chickens roam free) before being decorated with the tastiest handmade toppings. Our cakes are hand decorated to your specifications; you can choose from one of our signature styles or we can create a design based on your needs. We can also work within any budget so please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a detailed no obligation quote.

We can even deliver them straight to you and set them up on one of our lovely cake stands leaving you free to enjoy the adoration of your guests as they ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ over your lovely cakes. So if you’d like to talk to us about your next event or even make a small order for your loved ones or colleagues, then we’d love to hear from you.

There is a minimum order of only 6 cupcakes so we not only cater for weddings and events but also if you’d just like treat that special someone in your life.

Anna Clifton Jewellery

I recently caught sight of Anna’s website where she sells some fantastic handmade jewellery, all with an ‘ethical’ slant.  I asked Anna to tell me a little about herself and the jewellery that she makes.

Anna is a Jewellery Designer with a degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing. Anna hand makes individual and innovative pieces of jewellery using precious, plated and recycled metals combined with stones, crystals and resins.

Her work is influenced by a wide range of sources including natural form, eastern culture and the ever changing fashion world. Being highly committed to ensuring that the pieces she designs and makes are “wearable” yet still pieces of art.

Anna’s newest work is made using, or rather “re-using”, a variety of recycled materials including aluminium drinks cans, plastic carrier bags and recycled glass beads to create beautiful pieces of jewellery and bridal hair accessories.

Using flowers and natural form as inspiration for the design, Anna transforms the discarded aluminium drinks cans and plastic bags using heating and forming techniques. The components are then combined with sterling silver to create a variety of high quality pieces.

Anna always welcomes commissions.

Made For You Tiaras

I asked Sharon from Made For Your Tiaras to tell me a little about herself and her tiaras.

Made For You Tiaras means just that, tiaras made for you. Your style. Your colours. Unique to you and your wedding.

I started designing and making my own tiaras by chance. I was getting married and I couldn’t find a tiara I liked and as I already made jewellery I decided to try and make my own tiara. I found I loved it, and the designs came flooding in.

Since then I have built up a range of 60 different designs.

I only use the best materials. Freshwater pearls, Swarvoski crystals and silver or gold plated bands and wires.

No matter what your budget I can make a tiara for you. I will sit down with you and design one that is just unique to you and your wedding, and nobody else will have that design.

I am always updating my website with new designs, every bride wants to be a princess for the day so if you are considering a tiara, check out my website and get in touch.
