The colourful Andean mass wedding was held at the Colosseum in La Paz on Saturday, May the 7th according to Indian traditions and customs.
The outside venue was decorated with large white flowers and indigenous banners while several bands were kept busy with serenading the man brides and grooms taking their vows.
Presiding over the wedding ceremony was religious leaders along with the earth deity of the Aymara and Quechua races of Bolivia’s highlands Indians.
Even though everybody spoke the wedding vows together, each couple had gone through their own civil ceremony beforehand making each marriage legal.
