Couple Celebrate 60 Years Of Marriage By Renewing Their Vows 60 Times

Margaret and John Beauvoisin married in 1948 and have renewed their vows every year since 1950.

They only missed renewing their vows in 1949 because John was stationed in Bermuda with the Royal Navy.

Each year since they have taken their rings off to be blessed before putting them back on again.

The couple both said they felt a lump in their throat as they exchanged rings at the Sacred Heart Church in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth, Hants on December 27.

Ten of their 11 children, as well as most of their 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, were there to witness the occasion.

Mrs Beauvoisin, 81, of Waterlooville, said: “It reinforces our promise to love and care for one another.”

The couple met at a dance at a hall in nearby Southsea.

Madonna Sues Over Wedding Pictures

Madonna is suing the mail on sunday for £5 million because they printed pictures of her wedding to Guy Ritchie.

Though the wedding happened in 2000 the newspaper published the photos in October this year.

Madonna, who was recently divorced from her film director husband  was given no warning that the pictures were to be published.

Madonna’s barrister told Mr Justice Eady that no photographs of the marriage had ever been published anywhere in the world.

Mr Eady heard that pictures of the “wholly private” event on December 22, 2000 were copied “surreptitiously” by an interior designer during work at Madonna’s home in Beverly Hills.

Can’t see that she really needs the money but i don’t blame her for sueing them .

Marriage Visa Age To Raise To 21

Foreigners applying for marriage visas for the UK will have to be at least 21 years old from the end of November.

Ministers say raising the age from 18 is needed to stop forced marriages and deter people from abusing the system.

This measure applies to both partners. Spouses will have to agree to learn English and this will include future plans for English tests before spouses get their visas.

Minister Phil Woolas said “it is important we protect vulnerable young people”.

Other changes intended to tackle forced marriages means people will have to register their intention to  marry before they leave the UK.

As from 27 November both parties wanting to marry will have to be 21 before a marriage visa can be issued.

good or bad idea ?
